I understand the feeling of waiting. Below is my timeline trying to get exactly what I wanted :

5-17-21 - reached out to internet sales at local dealership to find a built or place an order to build one. No luck.

8-23-21 - salesman at local dealership reached out to me about placing an order but they did not have any allocations for a while.

10-06-21 - order placed.

11-11-21 - chevrolet picked up the order.

12-23-21 - car built.

1-28-22 - car should arrive @ industry.

2-03-22 - car should arrive @ dealership.

I never branched out to other dealerships so that could of extended the time compared to others.

Sounds like you are almost there. August to February is a long time to wait. My dealer took my order even though they didn't have an allocation, but put it in the system. However, I still don't have an allocation. I got a text last week that they won't know about allocations again until February 3. Looks like it took your dealer about a month and a half before the Order was picked up.

I am in Ottawa, and I ordered my 2SS 1LE on 7/24/2021. I also received news from my dealer that I have now an allocation. Pending constraints, I should have my car in the spring, which IMO is the perfect time to get a sports car!

Im excited im almost there it was a long wait but compared to the way some of you guys are talking i got lucky it seems like people are waiting alot longer than i had to.

This is my first camaro, im excited to be apart of the camaro family.

Just got a call from the dealer. The car was built, and now in transit status. Got my Vin Number too. I am hoping to take advantage of the 0% apr and sign off the papers by the end of this month. So we are talking about 2.5 month long total process from putting the order in. I m very surprised in a good way.

Forgive my naivete as I'm not all to familiar with Camaro sales, but is the only option to get a 1LE at the moment to order from the factory? I see a few near me listed at dealership or listed as incoming, however I know they may well be sold already. I am looking to get into one in the next year, but not sure how early I need to start the order process. Is the Camaro market as tight as the rest of the new car market (ie, should I expect to pay markup if I want one now?)

I think you should expect it will take at minimum of 4 months and up to ~10 months. A lot of it depends on what you order. 1SS 1LE seem to arrive faster than 2SS 1LE. The delay for 2SS is due to park assist electronics which 1SS doesn't have. If supply chain issues get resolved and the chip shortage settles out I am hoping delivery times will improve. Cutover to 2023 will also introduce delays.

I placed an order for a 2SS 1LE Satin Steel 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting for my dealer to get an allocation. If I get my car by November I'll be surprised. Fortunately I can wait it out.

That's awesome! There is also a $750 rebate for February. Don't know if that will carry over to March or not.

Appreciate the input. I will be ordering a pretty bare bones 1SS 1LE so hopefully it doesn't have too many supply-chain related constrains. Spoke with a local dealer today and they gave me a 12-16 week order estimate, seems like its on the optimistic side though.

Your dealer may have to resubmit the order as a 2023. They should be able to give you a concrete answer on that. What is your current order status code?

Well i did end up signing the papers before the car showed up to take advantage of the zero percent apr and rebate. The car was shipped to Toledo OH and waiting for the rail transportation. I heard that it can even take up to a month or more for the delivery yikes 😬
