They're killing it !!! (positively)
The challenger is a good looking car and it does several things really well. Then it continues to get better. it may not be able to turn, but it sure does look cool and haul ass in a straight line !

The Challenger Super Stock looks OK but I would have preferred lightweight 19" wheels in lieu of the 18s, and with a staggered tire setup (i.e., 255/45/19 front and 315/40/19 in the rear) since it is a "drag" car. The Redeye Charger and Redeye Challenger also look pretty great (except for straight on from the back). But they are not really quick for 800 hp cars, so I would say they not only don't turn back and forth well, they don't even drag strip well! 4500+ lbs will do that to you.

You missed the part where I said 315/40/19 in the rear. Same sidewall and width as the Super Stock, but a 1" taller tire - the larger diameter tire will hook even better (longer contact patch front to back). The narrower tire was for the front only. Sort of a pseudo skinny (compared to the 315s) but not really skinny.

Challenger is most likely being discontinued as well. Their parent company Fiat-Peugeot (or whatever they're doing to call it) has already cancelled the next gen Challenger. And the fuel economy and emissions on the Hemi mean it won't be legal for long. They'd need to develop a new engine.

The 'regular' Hemi might get a little more life, but I don't know that for certain, or exactly how much longer it might go. |

The current administration has been rolling back many rules including CAFE standards. If they / he is still in office I would suspect further regulation rollbacks. If not better buy the performance products of your choice now.

Challengers? Chargers? I love them both. Fiat is putting lipstick on a pig and calling it new. But people seem to like that.

The Dodge Charger was originally a two door coupe. They brought it back from the dead and changed it to a four door sedan so they could increase the potential market. Well, the market sucked it up AND pushed back, hence why we now have the Challenger as well. |
