Cleaning wheels

I cleaned my wheels on my Torrent for the first time (thought they looked pretty grundgy). I used Windex and it took a good 45 minutes to an hour to go over everything and get the wheels all nice again. What do you use on your Camaro wheels especially the polished ones which I plan on getting?

The polished one's have clearcoat paint on them so Zaino will work for you.

To clean brake dust from the wheels, I use Bleeche White..works great. After that, Zaino on the wheels.

Bleeche white will cut through the crap with minimal effort. A tooth brush for the nooks, and a bottle brush for the holes.

Keep them clean and polished, and all you will need to clean them is car wash soap. No corrosive or harsh cleansers.

Remember, it's easier to keep the wheels clean than it is to scrub a few weeks worth of brake dust off...

Exactly. You should be hand washing your car at least once a week. During your once a week bath, you should be using a mitt and cleaning your wheels as well. I keep a seperate mitt just for the wheels. I never have to use harsh chemicals on them because they never get dirty. If you're getting visible black brake dust on your wheels, you need to wash your car more often.

OK Here is my take - I owned a 40th Anniversary corvette for 15 years and it had never seen a water hose and had 20,000 miles on it - It wasn't a trailer queen either - I keep a small sprayer of DI water in a spray bottle and baby diapers or these days micro fiber - Wax it every two months unless you feel it needs more.

For painted wheels I like to use a good car wash (z-7 for me), and a wheel brush. I also have a larger brush that can reach everywhere in the wheel well to get that all clean. Then I'll apply Z-AIO and Z-2 Pro.

All subsequent washes after that are easy. But I'm a zaino freak.
