According to the manual, the hash mark represents 1L of oil. Its also suggested that the engine has been off for 2 hours. Premature oil checks may show inaccurate levels.

Excellent
Measurements are always performed in the mornings, after the car has been resting the night...

So for those who might be interested and for any kind of future reference for people who are going to search for such information:

After all was set & done, filled 1/2 Quart (475 cc) from the middle section of the hashmarks all the way to the top of the hashmarks for a total of 2,850 Miles driven, since last oil changed (and measured top of hashmarks next morning after the oil change).
This effectively means that ~1 Quart would be added for every ~ 5,700-6,000 Miles driven on my engine.
Seems to be a reasonable / acceptable oil consumption to my understanding.

Thank you for the data point

I’m in the process of doing a ‘Oil Consumption Test’ right now.

Dealership told me to come back after driving an additional 2,000 miles.

Would be great if you could add your findings to this thread after you finish driving these miles.
Please make certain, you measure in the morning after the car has been resting the night in both "before" and "after" scenarios.
Look at the exact point on the dipstick and always begin the measurement ("Zero Point") when you see the oil level at the most top point of the hashmarks

The one quart per 1000 miles is accurate. I have had that quoted that to me by both GM and Subaru dealerships.

I think traditionally the low mark on any oil dipstick is 1 quart. I dont have data on that but 30 years owning cars....and I pumped gas for years in high school and worked as a car mechanic for a few years.

I would also check your oil with the car warmed up let it sit 10 mins then check. Currently ALL 7 cars I own read 1 quart over ice cold. I change the oil myself in 5 of them. The only one I'm not sure of is the Camaro its to new to me and I never changed the oil on it myself.

Thanks for your contributions.

Well I checked mine cold dead level on the ground and it was down 3/4 on the hash marks.

I added oil to the top of the marks.

My mileage is same as yours. 2nd oil change.

One thing to add my Dad taught me is "stick it three times". He blew up his favorite car a 66 Pontiac in college. Ran it out of oil.

My first pull stick read FULL the next 2-3 it was down on the stick. ole Dad came thru again.

Your old man is perfectly right.
Never trust the first one you look at ;-)

Anyway, when you checked and identified the 3/4 down the stick, how many miles was that after the oil change?
Also, right after the oil change, was the level at the very top of the hash marks? Did you check?

what does it mean if you have absolutely no oil consumption?

It means you have to start and drive your car more often. Lol
All engines consume certain amount of oil, some a lot more than others. Most engines consumes so much less than other engines that the amount consumed does not show a significant amount on the dip stick in between oil changes. And this example is what most say as normal, or not using oil.
