A lt4 swap sounds like a bad idea to me, you could def sell your current car and upgrade to a zl1 with the cost of the swap

Agreed. An SS to ZL1 swap would be more reasonable imo.



OP sounds like the long term power goals are going to keep rising. Stepping into a ZL1 now and using that as the foundation will likely be much cheaper for big power since it was designed from the beginning as a forced induction application as opposed to building up an LT1 in several stages.


Though, my vote and plans for my car is for N/A all motor. Likely not until after I am on the hook for an engine instead of the warranty. Not that I am expecting such an issue but track duty does take its toll.

Do bolt ons first. Headers etc.
When more power is desired, throw in a cam.
More power? Heads.
Then if that isn't enough, go for FI.

There's guys making 530-550 at the wheels with H/C/I/E85 packages. I can't see why one would spend the money on a supercharger when you can have that without. Plus the last dynograph I saw lost no power at any range. Very impressive!
