Lifetime free alignments? Is this heaven? Lol. Where did you get such a deal?

Hardly heaven. Cost an extra $100.

That still seems pretty sweet. Especially saving money by not having to buy new tires as often.

I wish I could get lifetime free alignments. I'd be in there every 6 months. More so early on as I would be testing settings for tire wear. I'd be happy to pay the extra $100 for that service.

Wheel Works offered a lifetime alignment service.

As long as toe is kept close to 0, you wont see any difference in tire wear with lots of negative camber.

In fact depending on how you drive, that camber might actually extend the life of the tire by saving the outer edge (The spot that wears out from hard cornering) compared to a normal alignment.

So you can get the Chevy recommended Track Alignment and you won't see too much extra wear on your tires?

I only drive the Camaro a couple times a week

Not sure what the Chev track alignment specs are. As long as the toe is kept close to neutral, tire wear should be no different than the "normal" specs.

I will attach my alignment settings. How the car sits as a composed daily driver and glorious track day adventure.

With almost 20 hours of track time and 13k miles, there is plenty rubber left on the original tires. Been through some aggressive heat cycling so they are not exactly ready to set record laps.

I've found increased camber (more than -1.5) will case the car to drive a bit wonky. Certainly dependent on the road surface (grooves), but there is a reason no car from the factory has that kind of spec.

Got my 1LE updated to -1.5 today - pretty happy with it on the way home. I added .5 negative over the off the showroom floor due to the excess tire wear on the outside edges of the front.

Lifetime warranties...my experience unless you know the employees...a Toe and Go is usually their MO. A good alignment is not done in 30 minutes...I paid $150 for mine at a performance shop.

Manufacturers build cars for the majority of the customers. The reason cars don't come with camber set more for performance is because the manufacturer knows most owners will not drive to the alignments potential. They offer the alternate specs for those that do want something more aggressive. It's really a numbers game. You sell 3000 cars of a specific performance variety, they expect less that 20% will be driven to the capability of the vehicle. To reduce the chance of complaints and warranty issues they set the vehicles up for the 80% and then give the 20% an alternate setting.

I don't find that to be true at all.

We have some of the worst roads here in CA and especially in the Bay Area and I set mine up with -2.2 Front and -1.5 rear with just about zero toe .05 I think, it feels just as stable as the stock alignment. I noticed no increase trampling or wandering over the stock set-up.

Maybe re-check your toe settings.

Scargoes: Somewhat agree...but usually they set up the car for understeer and allow enthusiast to rebalance the car a bit with an alignment. Rarely do manufacturers allow so much negative camber. My Subaru was lucky to get -1.5. My older M3's camber is **not** even adjustable!

TRZ06: I'm not sure...worst roads?? I used to live there up the street on I-80...Californian's are sheltered to the rest of the world for roads...same here in FL. :-)

My experience is different with camber and tire wear. The toe settings are dead on.

Bottomline - performance alignments aren't for everyone. If street driven - it is not needed or desired, IMO. Unless you are getting outside tire wear or 'slide' the car on the street - waste of money.

Until you get to -2.4 front it will understeer and the front will plow through hard corners and push to the outside. Car is much more nuetral at -2.4 front -1.5 rear. This has been discussed many times over.
