I think it should have the flat plane crank v8 personally. Also I know its Ford's thing, but seeing Ecoboost in the engine bay of the new Ford GT is slightly depressing. I know its got 600 HP but there's nothing eco about it lol
Just a personal thing...

Wow I am actually un impressed by this looks wise and motor wise I feel a super car should have no less than a V8 or atleast V8 and hybrid or turbos. But Having a Super car and Ecoboost motor name its kinda odd and off for me. I feel this wont do as well as the Last GT.

It'll still sell well. It looks awesome, especially the rear 3/4 view.

To be honest I thought we might see a 4.6 Ecoboost V8 in the Raptor and if they introduced the GT it would have a small displacement flat-plane TT V8, but seriously who can complain about 600+ HP?

Its not that were purist and against Innovation and not against 600 plus hp, Its just that Ecoboost name. Oh you got a Ecoboost in you super car kinda like the one in the Taurus and the trucks just kinda dampers the car IMO they could have called it Raceboost motor or something cooler than Ecoboost.

While true, it is rare to see a 60-degree V anything in a mid-engine car. I'm not complaining, it just isn't what I expected. 600+ HP in a car like that is impressive regardless of number of cylinders or the "Eco" name.

Or for it to be called an Ecoboost engine. Totes ghey. Was just expecting a v8 in there since this is probably going to be limited production.

I expect the Ecoboost V6 in the Ford GT to be built to GT-R level of endurance and performance.
The only thing it will share with other Ecoboost engines is displacement size and name.

Also wouldn't putting the Flat Plane crank motor in this kinda help keep costs down too? or do you think they couldn't get more than 600 hp reliably to make it happen in The Ford GT.
