Elsd fluid change
I can’t find any service records saying mine was changed. 2022 3K miles. Just got it. Should i do it just to be safe.
Is this a track only necessity, or all. Sorry if this is a beaten up topic. Any idea of dealer cost? Thanks. Got it out for first real drive today. Blown away!

I bought my car with 7k miles on it and I never looked into the 1500 mile diff fluid change. I have 47k miles and a lot of trackdays so now that you bring it up I'm going to change that to be safe. I wouldn't worry about it, if anything change it before your first trackday.
Congrats! |

I didn't do my 1LE for like 30K, but the ZL1 I did it within a few thousand, partly because I knew it would be pretty easy. I don't have an opinion on when it's really necessary for a street DD. Piece of mind and there's a lot of gunk on the drain plug when you pull it.

+1 on changing it. Did mine after 1.5K and a lot of gunk was on the magnetic drain plug.
I'd say it's good peace of mind and you won't have to worry about it until you track it or 30K+ miles down the road. 2 jugs of fluid comes out to <$50 on Amazon and you just need a fluid transfer pump. Took <10 minutes after getting the car in the air. |

Change diff oil twice at the same time you do the 1st oil changes (500 and 3k miles or so). It gets really gunky in new ediffs. After that it'll be good, I did my 4th change at 39k miles recently and the fluid looked fine.

Change it, cheap insurance, I did mine at 505 and again at 1,500 miles, at the 505 there was a lot of gunk on the magnetic plugs, 1,500 there was a bit... When I did it again at 5,975 the fluid looked great...
Super easy and not very expensive...
