Riverside blue & Hyper blue side by side pictures
Here are some different blue flavors of newer GM vehicles. My Vette and Colorado with my wifes new Camaro
2019 Camaro RS in Riverside blue 2018 Colorado ZR2 in Hyper blue (Kinetic, but same exact paint code) 2018 Corvette GS in Admiral blue To my eyes, Riverside and Hyper are pretty close, however since the body angles differ from the truck to the Camaro it's admittedly not as true of a comparison as a Riverside Camaro next to a Hyper Camaro. |

I saw both back to back at CamaroFest and the Riverside Blue is definitely darker than Hyper Blue and has a purple hue to it that Hyper Blue doesn't have. In person the difference is obvious to me, but in pictures they look closer depending on the lighting.
Also, nice collection and good taste in color!!

I hate blues that take on a purple hue when viewed at an angle. Almost all MFG do this now to their blues.
Obviously color is very subjective, but I like true blue colors that retain that deep blue hue at all angles.

I've followed GM color offerings on Vettes and to a lesser extent on Camaros for several years now and they seem to change the blues and grays quite often. On Vettes the blues will typically last 3 years, then will go darker or lighter. These cars have even shared the same flavor of gray at one point - Nightfall gray on Camaro is same paint code as Watkins Glenn Gray on Corvette.
If Camaro ever offers this flavor of Admiral blue, it should be a big hit. A better pic of my Admiral blue. |
