There was a show tonight on called the Costco craze showing the ins and outs of what they do. Pretty cool as I'm a fan of Costco. Some dealers are a part of their car program and they offer a discount if your a member but not too many dealers are, when I was shopping for a camaro, the closest dealer that offered the Costco discount was over 4 hours away.

LOVE Costco!!!
I got my Camaro from/through Costco (kinda). Here in So. Cal. you enter the vehicle you want online and you get information for dealers in your area and what types of deals they offer. For the Camaro I found $125 - $200 above invoice pricing depending on the dealer. At this point 3 dealers in the area contacted me and let me know what they had, what and when they could order and how close to invoice they could get. I went with a local dealer and the experience was great. I booked some vacations through Costco also. Again online. It was easy and you sometimes qualify for additional upgrades such as a better cabin/room (cruise) or certain $$ gift card. I LOVE the return policy and the quality of items. They actually inspect and approve products as well as the plants they come from in some cases. The products work well and if they do mess up/break you can return them hassle free. Only thing is with computers and some other electronics it is like 6 months or something. But that is still GREAT!!! Regarding the price of membership, if you shop often at Costco, consider the executive membership. It is like $110 or so, but you earn a % back based on your purchase amount per year. So we always end up with a check amount greater than membership cost. So free membership. In case your check is a smaller amount than membership cost, Costco will refund the executive cost and you will have only paid the regular membership charge. Win win situation. Regarding the fuel available at some Costco locations, here in So. Cal. they sell the gas with ethanol. I don't really like it so I choose to fuel up elsewhere. Here a lot of grocery stores offer savings on fuel like Costco. (Vons, Ralphs etc) Sam's club also offers good savings to fuel up. Additionally my buddy said: If you are not a member of Costco or Sam's, but would like to fuel up and enjoy the savings . . . have someone buy you a Costco or Sam's gift card. When using a gift card, you do not need to have membership. <== I have not verified.

Was at Costco today. I have three large dogs and foster another. Their dog food prices are great!
And I had a polish hotdog and drink for $1.62 counting tax. Oh...I saw someone wheeling out one of those bed-in-a-boxes. I think they really do sell everything there! |
