Hey Ted,

I currently have a 2011 Camaro L99 with CAI, ARH Long tubes with off-road pipes, cammed with DOD/VVT delete, 3600 FTI stall, B&M Trans cooler, and DSS driveshaft.I plan to add a Whipple, DSX fuel kit with E85, and injectors.

My question is what size injectors to run. Would you go with 1000's or 1300's?

What can I expect from a rwhp standpoint?

It is fun to plan to buy a bunch of parts, we are all kids at heart searching through toy catalog, but if you have no goal then your doing it backwards.

You need to set a performance goal, whether that be a RWHP number, ET or Lap time on the Track, then work toward it.

Ted.

Always had a plan. I went cam and changed out the weak points in VVT and DOD with CAI and headers/exhaust along with FTI stall first. My second step is adding the upgraded fuel system and Whipple. My question related to which is better for the setup, 1000's or 1300's.

I would like to see 650-700 rwhp.

The 1000's will take care of you easily for your target rwhp goal. I'm running 95lb/hr (rated@43.5psi), and on E85 at 800rwhp, I see about 65-70% IDC.

Just FYI, my numbers were as follows:
1st iteration: LS9 cam, 4" Whipple Pulley, LT headers, full exhaust, stock everything else, premium pump gas - 600rwhp
2nd iteration: LS9 cam, 3.75" Whipple pulley, LT headers, full exhaust, stock everything else, premium pump gas - 630rwhp
3rd iteration: custom cam, ported stock heads, 95lb injectors, fuel system, 93 OCT - 745rwhp
4th iteration:custom cam, ported stock heads, 95lb injectors, fuel system, E85 - 806rwhp

Thanks. My transmission will be the limiting factor. Not sure I want to upgrade transmission to get to your level, but I will never say never. We all know how mods go.

It's all in how you drive it. I'm still on my FACTORY clutch.....I'm sure after this next round of mods though, a clutch will be next.

What fuel do you plan to use?

Providing your combo of parts is right and you run E-85 that should be easy.

Either set of injectors will support that power but if you plan to keep going move to the 1300s

Question for you ted.
I have a 2013 L99 with AFM delete. GPI SS2 VVT cam with all supporting cam mods. ECS Novi1500 supercharger currently with restrictor plate in place. 8 rib upgrade, 4 inch intercooler upgrade. ATI superdamper. FIC 1000 injectors, ZL1 pump and fpcm. Long tubes, Corsa 3inch Extreme with H/F cats. 3.91's. Circle D 32-3400 triple disc. Solid cradle bushings, bmr toe rods, bmr trailing arms, delrin control arm bushings, ZL1 stabilizer. Car put down 600whp on a mustang dyno. It ran 11.40 at 123mph 2 weeks ago at Atco.My build goal is anywhere in the 10's.

What can I expect if I go to a SS3 cam and E85 on the same dyno?
And do I need to use a bap or double pump for the E85

I have no interest in a LS3 conversion, or a different supercharger for now. Can you answer the questions I asked?

The reason I posted the link was to show you what the potential of your supercharger system is.

Your car is showing about 465 RWHP, I have built many CAI Cam Header converter cars that run that without a blower.

A basic Blower, Cam Headers gears and converter should be deep in the 10s.

Ours went 9.46 146 driving back and forth to the track.

Which politely tells you there is something very wrong with your combo.

The Cam is not your problem nor will another cam fix your problem.

A flex fuel conversion will require a Fore innovations return style fuel system.

Feel free to call me if you want to get this sorted out.

Did I miss something here in the translation???
He said his car put down 600rwhp,..... "Car put down 600whp on a mustang dyno. It ran 11.40 at 123mph 2 weeks ago at Atco.My build goal is anywhere in the 10's".

but Ted said it put down 465....."Your car is showing about 465 RWHP"....
I'm confused here.

use a 1/4 mile calculator

600 rwhp on 4000 lbs will go 131 mph

Great thread for sure.
I thought was interesting no mention of ring gap. If within the 700 hp limit of 93 Octane can one presume it's not an issue?
