Stealth Mode

2019 SS owner with NPP here. I used to be able to engage stealth mode while the car was off by enabling accessory mode (holding down the ignition button for some number of seconds without the clutch) then going into engine options. This was helpful because I only enable stealth mode if I'm leaving before 7am, which is generally not planned. Now after a recent update, it seems like the only way to enable stealth mode is to start the car first, which entirely defeats the purpose for me because the bark on initial startup is what I'm trying to avoid. Has anyone else noticed this, and has anyone found a workaround (besides enabling stealth mode prior to every time I shut off the car)?

Not sure if this is the right forum topic.

If it is in stealth before you shutdown it will startup in stealth. You can also press/hold start button for 5 seconds to get back into the menu.

Update: Not sure what happened, but the functionality has returned to the way it was before. I can now enable stealth mode with the car in accessory mode. Guess the car was just being fussy.

Hmm, is this still the "some menu items are missing in accessory mode or after startup" problem, was that why you couldn't switch to stealth mode before?

As LiqTenExp mentions, with your foot off the brake, press and hold the "Start" button for 5-7 seconds. This puts the car in "Key On, Engine Off" mode. When you just tap the "Start" button this essentially puts the car in RAP (retained accessory power), where functions will be limited.

I suppose it's possible I released the start button too early, but I ran into the issue for two or three days in a row. I had put the car in accessory mode several dozen times prior to put the exhaust in stealth mode, so it's not like I didn't know how to do it. In any case, as I mentioned before, it is working properly now, so no way to test if I ran into a bug, or if it was user error. Like most things, probably user error, but I'll go to my grave swearing the car was glitched.

It is possible to release a little too early. Easiest way to check is to look at the light on the ignition switch if it happens again in the future. Amber light is equivalent to a physical key's ACC mode where you shouldn't be able to set NPP mode, green light is equivalent to on/IGN where you can change modes.
