2013 Camaro SS L99 engine sounds
Let me first start out by saying, I'm EXTREMELY paranoid about engine sounds, and I might be listening too much into this, but can someone tell me if they hear anything odd with this sound clip? I did some low revs and some idle.I always think I hear

It sounds like camshaft upgrade to me. One of the lifters is kinda loud but not too loud yet. But unfortunately it will only get worse. How many miles are on it?

sounds pretty normal, the loud clicking is the fuel injectors which LS3/L99s are notorious for, that slight clack noise could be an AFM lifter starting to go or it could also be that a header bolt has started to work itself loose. The bolts on my driver side header work themselves loose on a regular basis, apparently its a common thing after they get taken out for a rebuild or repair. I have to go through and re torque them about once a month or they'll work just loose enough that they'll start making a clack noise similar to the sound a bad lifter makes.

I have to disagree about FI noise. The L99 does not have direct injection, so the FI is relatively low pressure and quiet. The noise sounds like either normal valve train noise, a noisy lifter, or perhaps a leaky header gasket, if you have headers.
It always helps to start your question with a description of any mods. Also, did this L99 have the lifters replaced with the upgraded design, per the TSB? |

You can clearly hear the (port) injectors happily clicking away louder than just about anything else, which tells me the motor is pretty quiet. Send it.
