I have looked at my K&N next to a rotofab and they where very similar in every way. Think they are all about the same for NA applications.

I called CAI, and they said that there is no issue using the K&N Recharge kit to clean and oil their filter, I called out of curiosity because of post # 6, I figured there was no difference.

So you’re saying they won with a CAI?

Yes, the Z28.Rs of both Stephenson Motorsports and Mantella Autosport made the switch to CAI, Inc. in 2015. The Stevenson #6 won several races and the GS championship that year. They just performed better on the detuned 427s. In those days I organized the Camaro Corral at Watkins Glen and asked Mike Johnson of Stevenson why the switch. To which he replied, "because Chevy told us to"

In no particular order, Roto-fab (my personal choice) CAI, or Vararam are the top 3. Vararam will give you the best NA power, but it's not designed to work with forced induction. Roto-fab and CAI can work with super chargers.

I always knew there was something holding me back from winning. Dang it. Who knew it was that POS OE Z/28 CAI? I put the SOB on 3-4 years ago - can’t remember because it was, ‘set it and forget it’ and never looked back. I’m pretty pissed I have to rip it all out, take it to the dump and put in some other POS that needs custom ‘fabbed’ to fit. But I can’t wait to win again. I’d give it away but no one wants them.
