SS 1LE Auto X eLSD Tune

Who has purchased the tune and how did you like it? I autocross every month and just now heard about it so I am very interested.

This isn't stock class legal! You go right to STU or CAMC

No but the do have the ability to.

Just saying. I wouldn't want to win that way.

I don't run PTM anyway so the ELSD tune doesn't engage in competition mode.

How do you like competition mode vs track race or Nannie’s off?

comp mode everything is off and the diff is in mode 4 and thats probably the best one for autoX. PTM is awesome for the track where i dont want to bin a car, keeps some things on and keep you from killing yourself lol.

Its just my preference.

keeps stabilitrac I read, I need to try it. Does it affect our EDiff snap oversteer at all? Track race and Nannie’s off work well for me. Off a bit faster in the morning, track race a bit faster in the heat. Sounds like comp mode is like all off on my old fifth gen.

if you hold it down for 10 seconds it turns everything off. i think comp mode it a double tap.

Yes it is. I have to read more on what it does . In two weeks I will try it. More testing, been using a hotchkiss bar for a year and took it off. Even with sq re71s it understeers and plows just enough to slow me up. Our lot surface is very low grip and has elevation changes. Softer and more balanced is better.

Just the opposite.

It opens on corner entry reducing understeer and locks very quickly on throttle allowing for better rotation and depending on setup, more power down.

With an otherwise stock car the tune will cause additional corner exit oversteer and may not be faster at all, but it does help with entry and is more predictable vs the stock tune, and more fun to drive overall. It can also cause some odd behavior if you're not precise, for example if you slow too much entering a slalom then hit the gas, the lockup will unsettle the car a bit.

Once I got a more ideal roll bar setup and alignment the tune doesn't cause excessive corner exit oversteer anymore, it just puts power down better and it doesn't get unsettled in the way it did before. It also makes the car much easier to drive and much more predictable, easier to place and my times became much more consistent as a result.

IME, after getting the diff tune, track alignment, and ZLE subframe bushings last year, then getting roll bars and a more ideal alignment using camber plates and rear toe links this year, I'd recommend doing all and running CAM or nothing and running FS. Or stock everything + front roll bar, which is allowed in FS. The diff tune on an otherwise stock car has pros and cons, the cons go away with a more ideal setup, and at a minimum I'd run the tune with a front bar to control oversteer.

Just my $.02...

And with your hotchkiss front bar and zle rear bar that is a lot softer then stock , is what tamed the oversteer as the front bar is just to for better turn in( I didn’t notice it on a low grip surface) and Mainly to put weight transfer to the rear and less grip for the rear tires for the EDiff oversteer. That it does well. Your bar combo must have added a bunch of understeer but the other mods that you did seems to have countered that some and probably not as much understeer as normally would have been felt. I guess why gm says EDiff tune works best and intended for a modded cam car.

Sounds like this tune is "Dodge mode on" lol. They have mechanical LSD and it likes to light up tires on fire on every corner. But its Dodge. They advertise their cars as tire shredders.

The AutoX tune was designed by the Camaro team that won Nationals. It's an excellent mod if you AutoX.

It's really evident in courses with tight elements and reversals. Not so much on the long sweepers you'll see at National Events.

And, yes, you cannot run in Street class. Puts you in CAM or STU. Will this matter at local events? Up to your competition. But at a National, don't try to sneak it by.
