NonSS Test Drive Question
My plans are to order a 2SS. I actually have never ridden/driven a 6th Gen so I'd like to test drive one to make sure the fit is good.
There are not any SS versions in my area and I do not know anyone who has one. How close to the same would it be from a fit perspective to test drive a V6 LS model? I understand the difference in engines, just mainly talking about cabin. Thanks |

And don't get hung up on the materials or screen size etc. either, interior dimensions and layout will be identical, as stated above.

I sat in a 1LT first then I got to test drive a 2019 1SS 1LE. After that, I immediately placed my order for 2SS 1LE.

I have drove both, the SS has a stiffer clutch with the manual, the SS also is slightly stiffer in the corners, and the V8 gets to 70 a lot quicker, the only other difference is mag ride or no mag ride. Now the V6 cost less to own, gas, insurance, oil changes, and tires are cheaper.

Check your local rental car agencies, some have Camaros in the fleet, and take one for a full day rental to see how you like it...

I'm not sure if there's a fit difference between the Standard issue seats and available RECAROs, but it may be something you want to keep in mind.
Regardless any non-Recaro optioned Camaro will fit identically. Any Recaro optioned Camaro will fit identically. And they both may be very similar... The cockpit and seats haven't changed since 2016, you can get into any 2016 to 2021 and be very confident that a 2022 will fit the same with some accounting for normal wear and material break-in. You may also want to pay attention to upholstery materials. I found the leather trim to be a little easier to maneuver into and out of versus cloth, because I twist my bum on the seat a little as I enter/exit. The leather allows me to slide a little more into place whereas the cloth required more of a "lift and reposition" effort. Due to the Camaro having a laid-out seating position already, I couldn't really get the best leverage to lift and reposition with the cloth. With the leather I think i settled into position easier and didn't require quite as much seat and personal adjustment to get comfortable even though the dimensions of the seats are the same between the materials. |

As the engine size gets bigger the interior size gets smaller. For each set of cylinders added, it adds an inch to your junk so by total volume, going from a 4-cylinder to a V8 will decrease interior volume by about 4 cubic inches, adding forced induction will add to the girth of your junk by 1.5 inches.... At least that's what I read somewhere on the internet....

Well played, well played. Now the only thing I need to know is if cam, headers and E85 also add some extra girth... please, Professor TXCSSU?
