GM sold 69,412 Tahoes/Suburbans/Yukons last quarter for a 70% market share. Nissan sold 4130 Armadas, and despite its sales being up close to 500%, that's not hard to accomplish when you only sold 700 or so units this time last year.

GM sold 9,664 Escalades last quarter, Nissan sold 2898 QX80s. And Escalade's ATP hovers around the 6 figure mark.

There's an undisputed dominant leader in the full size SUV/luxury SUV segments.
Absolutely. I never disagreed with this fact. GM's full sized SUV's are #1 for good reasons.

However, lets also look at some realities. GM's Full Sized SUV's are also among the priciest of SUVs in the market. As great as the Tahoe Yukon Escalade is, getting into one can be a challenge. When money is tight and you need and want to get into a full sized SUV with v8 power to spare, then the Armada makes a great compromise. I never realized this until I sat in one and drove one. Excellent creature comforts, ride and power from its v8, and priced cheaper than Tahoe, it would not be hard to be lured by the Nissan. It has a polarizing profile that is not at all boring or anonymous. However, the rear axle drivetrain is inferior to its GM rivals. Additionally, GM has a commanding hold on its electronics and technology.

Still, when one needs a new ride and your choice of a GM product is hard to obtain, it can be easy to choose a rival from Nissan and/or other foreign makers.

Redesigned CT6 coming to China. Wish it was here. The 19 and 20 model years looked real good.

Isn't this amazing??? No wonder Ford only focuses on the pickups in North America. No wonder that the GM twins and their SUVs float the company. Over three quarters of a million units in a given year from one model segment!

This is a remarkable reason why ICE will always be featured in pick-ups. To get rid of ICE's in pickups is like the proverbial suicide!! Neither GM or Ford have experienced such a sales boom since the days of Impala and Galaxie.
