Thanks! Thats the type of adhesive I would expect to see - and definately not what is currently on my car. Looks like I'll be ordering a set.

I bet you're not complaining about the price of it though. Everything comes it's trade offs.

Well....was at a car show this weekend, judges just a few cars away, did a quick wipe and sure enough, just about knocked the Y completely off. Luckily I got it to stick just long enough to be judged (and earned the Best of Class award!).

Knew it wouldn't make it home, so took it completely off and it looks like there were spots where there wasn't any adhesive (mostly where there are indentations in the back of the letter). Sucks that it didn't last more than a month. Have an appointment with the dealer to fix it. Yeah, I can fix it myself, but that's what the warranty is for.

Really can't blame China. American designers want to make as much profit as possible. Having their products made in China almost guarantees that. Manufacturing in America can be too expensive. If it was your company you too would likely ship it to China.

The issue with having China for your manufacturing comes with the fact that the communist government owns and controls the factories.

Case in point: Danbury (and Franklin) Mint cars were made in China and are no longer in production. The Chinese Government decided that the factory that built the cars was better suited to build other things and shifted the production to another factory. The problem was the "new" factory was ill-equipped to produce and build the product and the quality went to crap. Danbury sends representative(s) over and discover that this is the case and basically their only choice is to cease production or continue build inferior products. They cease production but the Chinese Government "owns" rights/tools/dies/molds etc. and Danbury can't build them somewhere else even if they wanted to. Double edged sword, all of it now belongs to the Chinese.
