35 series tiers on a ZL1 & on a ZL1 1LE
Hi,
Does anybody know if 35 series tiers will fit on a ZL1 & on a ZL1 1LE? Same widths just a bit taller. I’m chasing a bit more ground clearance. |

If I remember correctly (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), 305/35 rears will fit without issues. For the fronts, you must use a 275/35 instead of a 285/35 to avoid rubbing.

I can vouch for a 275/35/20 fitting on the front, haven't tried a 285/35.

For the rear. You'll run into an issue with running a 35 series tire for the left rear. There is a wiring harness that runs through the wheel well and is a known issue that running anything bigger than a 30 series will run into the wheel liner and damage the harness.
Now GM did seemly start to relocate the harness but it's still better to check before you start driving with that take tire. Just take the tire off and pull down the liner then look for the harness. If it runs where the tire could possibly damage it, just cut off the zip toes that hold out and move it to a better spot and zip tie it. Easy job. |
