Thumbs up Forged MRR's for the track?

Considering MRR M017's for my 2020 2SS 1LE, as they are forged and look great. I am also leaning heavily towards Michelin Pilot Sport 4S'.
Looking for feedback as to the durability of the wheels and trackability of the tires.
Really appreciate educated comments and pictures.

These wheels aren't fully forged, they sure look good and the PS4S is a very good overall tire choice, but I'm not sure I'd go with these for the track. The OEM 1LE wheels are forged, and from what others say, Goodyear 3Rs work extremely well on the track.

I can't think of a reason to use those tires instead of SC3.

I'm thinking of getting the MRR017 1LE replica wheels when it comes time for tires on my 2SS (I love the look of the 1LE wheels and want 10" & 11" wheels (and the corresponding wider tires (thinking 315/30's on the rear and 285/30's up front))), are they good wheels? I'll probably never track the car but may very well do some "highly spirited" driving in the mountains on a rare occasion...

The only reason would be rain. The PS4S tires are probably the fastest and grippiest tires in the rain - probably faster than any 200TW tire for the track in the wet.

The PS4S tires have very soft outer edges which may be okay in the rain since you won't have as much lateral traction.

The MRRs are definitely well suited for track use being FLOW-forged not fully forged. I ran them on my car for 3 years. However you already have a 1LE with better GSC3 tires and FULLY forged wheels, so you should be buying the MRR/PS4S setup for daily driving / wet tracking. No idea why you think this would be a better track setup than stock

Excellent! The kind of conversation I was hoping to inspire. Sounds like it would be good to go with the MRR's, and Michelin's, but keep the OE setup for the track. I've been happy with the GSC tires on the track, but they aren't ideal on a road trip with a sudden thunderstorm with small hail.
Would like to hear more about track tires. Stay with GSC's when these are roasted? (for the track)

I would absolutely recommend staying with the G3s for tracking the car. That's what I'm running as my 200TW tire on my C6Z now.

As far as rims and tire sizing you really have 2 ways to go here. Cheaper or better performance.

Cheaper: you cannot beat the pricing of OEM sized G3s especially when buying the old stock from Tire Rack OEM sizes

Performance: If you are looking to increase performance while staying with the outstanding G3 tires you can get 19" wheels and open up many choices here. Stock 10" & 11" widths running 295/305s, all 4 wheels 10.5" wide with 305 square, or 11" & 12" wide in ZLE specs with 305/325 tires.

Pick your poison/cost/performance....

That makes sense! I have Falken RT660 on a set of MRR M755 (19x10 & 19x11) for Autocross/Track, and Michelin PS AS4 on the stock wheels for everything else.

Another interesting option for the stock sized wheels is the Yokohama A052 which just came out in a 295/30/20 size. Probably won't last as well as the stock tires on the track, but might be the best 20" tire for autocross.
