I’m not trying to start a debate or saying that you are wrong, although that was basically what I just did with my last post. Sorry. My recent experience with my car is that I can feel a very noticeable difference. Several people I know who I’ve had drive the car, have all had a tough time setting off while we were switching between tour and sport. I am from Denmark where cars costs a fortune due to taxes, we’re used to manuals to keep the costs down. So these people have driven manual cars all their life. To give you an idea, the 6th gen Camaro costs around 140k USD here. So every little cost cutting helps three fold on the purchasing price.

I’ve been driving in tour whole last year, and most of this year too. But recently when trying sport mode, I miraculously accomplished to stall the car, twice in one trip. I mean it’s probably one of the most forgiving cars to set off in. So it had me wondering.

When I switch to sport mode, it takes a noticeable longer pedal travel to achieve the same engine speed, compared to tour. Even though I have pulled the NPP fuse (#51) it also sounds a lot different when I accelerate, as the engine speed/RPMs increases much more linearly.

Getting through an empty roundabout or a 90 degree turn and letting the tail out just a little also requires much more effort in sport. This may have something to do with the traction control behaving differently between the modes. As you know I don’t have any facts to back this up, but it’s just an idea I had.

Maybe it is different on manuals vs automatic, or maybe it’s because my car is a EU spec model. But there is definitely a noticeable difference between the tour and sport throttle mapping on my car.

Or maybe this is all in my head and the mode switch button could just be a dummy button not wired to anything and I’d still feel a difference.

I was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago, and thought surely that would explain what I’ve been experiencing. And then I saw this thread.

I’ve been searching the forum and I have found several documents and pages from GM stating that the throttle progression is identical between tour and sport. I am just sure I can feel that something is different. I’ll try and take notice of it again next time I drive it.

I agree 100%

My fav setting and swing that rear end. It’s called throttle pedal control. Snap the rear end back in line.

I too have found that Sport mode is more responsive than Track mode in my ZL1 and the 2016 2SS I used to own also. With the ZL1, Tour mode gives better mileage than Sport or Track and most times I put the Z in Tour mode when driving on a trip out of town. When driving around the city, my ZL1 is in Sport mode and exhaust in Track mode. I set exhaust to Track mode in the DIC and keep it there all the time now.

It depends on what dealer you go to and how many sensors it burned out.
