wheel well carpet cleaner

What is the best way to clean the dirt out of the fabric/carpet type wheel wells?

I do two steps. First rinse with power washer, spray diluted Dawn soap, scrub with brush, and rinse. Second spray with IronX, scrub with brush, let dwell for 5-10mins, then rinse really well. Don’t this every time but every time I do a full wash.

Where I live we have tons of pine straw and leaves, not a good combo for the wheel well carpet. Most of the time, I fire my compressor up and use an air gun to blow it off. I also use a pressure washer when it's real bad.

Take off the wheel and use a stiff bristle brush.

These liners are used in many newer cars, they reduce wheel noise inside the cabin.

Proper care of these fiber liners really isn't all that different from taking care of the smooth plastic liners - wash them with soap, water, and a brush, pressure wash if need be, and spray on a water based dressing of your choice.

If mine are real dirty, especially with wet leaves, I take a hose with a decent amount of pressure, that takes off about 95% of the dirt and leaves, etc. Then after I do my rinseless wash on the car, I use some of my wheel MF towels, put them in the rinseless wash bucket and clean them by hand, that works real well.

It's a good idea to clean them to remove any rubber stuck to the fender liners from drag racing or burn outs before taking it the dealership. Someone here had warranty issues with a broken axle as the dealership and GM claimed abuse.

Dreaded wheel hop. Change those toe links and trailing arms!
