New to the site.. I have a 2018 ZL1 in the pipe. TPW is 6/12.. status 3000. Had the update since last week.

I went from no TPW to a TPW sometime between Friday morning till this morning.

Ok guys I am really torn here. I have a deposit on a black ZL1 A10 with a TPW of 6/5 that the dealer ordered as 1 of their allocations (however they didnt get the exposed cfh) which is a big turn on for me.

My dealer did get the email saying they have 1 allocation for a 1LE. So we put together an order for a 1LE with my favorite color. This was back on 5/11/17 but it hasn't moved from 1100 status yet. I am happy to wait an extra month to get the 1LE however, it's really only going to be a driver on nice days. I might take it to the track once a year maybe. PIR is only 45 miles away. So that being said will i hate the ride? Or worse yet will my wife hate it. The roads here in the NW are in ok shape. So can anyone realistically tell me what the ride will like?

I believe orders had to be in by 05/09/17 in order to be picked up on 05/11/17 with the threat to use it or loose it.

No rubber mounts on the DSSV suspension. Metal on Metal.
If you want to enjoy your Cruise in a ZL1.....pass on the 1LE.
Tires stick out 1" past the fender.....Rock chips down the side of your car if you DD it.

I don't really think either incarnation of the Z is great if you're looking for a Cadillac style ride. That's probably where the CTS V comes in.

I am most likely going to drive my 1LE about 10 to 15 miles a day, and have some fun at night on occasion. I'll probably "daily" the car for a year or so. Depends if I keep my truck. Granted, I am coming from a full BMR 5.0 with a ton of weight over the front, in similar fashion to the 1LE.

As far as rock chips...am I under the assumption I'm supposed to be sticking this in a glass case for a Mecum auction 30 years down the road?

Having a Z/28 with the DSSV shocks and stiffer springs, I can tell you that your wife will not like the ZL1 1LE much. The right is compliant, but firm, you will get jiggled around in the car. The ZL1 is a much better all around package and if my wife were in the equation, that is what I would get. For me the Z/28 is a fun weekend car, track or mountain roads, but wife does not like to join in on either of those events.

Good luck with your decision - the ZL1 can be DD no problem, the 1LE not so much!
