The Mystery Box was not good. It did not reach the stated retail value. I have contacted customer service. I don't recommend Autogeek mystery boxes. Mystery boxes from Adam's and Chemical Guys are great.

It sucks that they included boat wax in the mystery box too. I sold my 3 boats 2 years ago.

MEGUIARS D4510 $7.99
DISPENSER BOTTLES 3 PACK $7.99
CARRAND TIRE BRUSH $7.99
DURAGLOSS 265 $8.99

COLLINITE FLEETWAX $19.99
BLACKFIRE APC $24.99
POORBOYS WHEEL SEALANT $19.99

Here's the response from customer service, VERY QUICKLY (within 10 minutes), I must add:

"Kirk,

Our sincerest apologies. Your mystery box is missing extra towels and all of the items were supposed to be shipped in a detail bag. We will have those missing items shipped out immediately and we will include a replacement for the fleetwax. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment and hope to..."

So a detail bag would make a pretty big difference, probably $50, and I am cool with a bag. Replacing the boat wax is good.

When I first read this I was surprised, AG doesn't do mystery boxes often, usually only once a year, comparing against all the different detailing sites that offer these, the one's I got from AG were the best as far as value by a long shot. I don't do them anymore because I have all the detailing stuff I need. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent you more than they stated in the e-mail reply.

You did get nice boxes.

I love the XL MF applicator, and I have wanted to try D4510. Duragloss and Stoner are always good. But I don't have ANY use for boat cleaner wax. And I am not thrilled with a $25 bottle of APC that is not concentrate.

Are they cleaning off their shelves getting rid of stuff that doesn't sell?

Hope they make it right.

This is actually what most mystery boxes consist of. They usually give a few big boxes, but the odds of getting one is very low. If you get one of these from any detailing site, only expect the minimum offered. It's a good way to get stuff for a cheaper price if you don't have much detailing stuff, if you have a lot, the odds of getting something you don't need are high.

Adam's, McKee's and Chemical Guys don't send out dud mystery boxes. I have gotten one of each of those in the last month and they were awesome.

You must be luckier than I am, I have bought several from these sites and others. Usually ended up with just around the minimum offered. I did once out of 5 times get one from Adams worth $58 for $35 on a guaranteed $40 for $30 plus $5 shipping.. Detailer's Domain sent me a box with "sample size" products from nanolex, 6 small bottles for $35.....tried 4 of the 6....didn't like any of them. It's the risk you take.
The AG mystery boxes were by far the best value.

I'd rather just get what I want during a good sale, that way I don't get something I already have, or end up not liking after using, and save money on something I know I will like/use.

As long as I get a 40% discount off of products that I can use, I am good. Most times that is the case. I got a Detailer's Belt from AG mystery box last time and I use it every day.

I have wholesale accounts with a couple of sites and I get 35-45% off on most products, so that's the discount I shoot for to buy from Autogeek.
