Camaro spare parts shop
Hi,
Does anyone have any information on Camaro spare parts shop on Facebook? They have some parts I’d like to buy but I’m in Australia. They say they will ship the parts for free. I sounds to good so I’m not sure if it’s a scam. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. Anthony. |

IIRC (and I could be wrong) I thought these were stolen cars parted out, so if not an outright scam, definitely ill -gotten booty.

I would not buy anything from these facebook-only "shops" at this point (especially if the prices are too good to be true, with free shipping to Australia, which is normally pretty expensive), the risk is just too high.

This was posted on Facebook about one of these type parts dealers. It wasn't a Camaro parts dealer but they all operate the same.
"Just want to put a warning about about a potential scam. I put a FaceBook post out looking for some parts for my 63 Grand Prix and was refered to this Facebook member / business. They said they had the parts, showed me pictures and we settled on a reasonable price. First red flag, PayPal payment to another person’s name. Second red flag, wanted money sent as friends and family. Third red flag, the parts were supposedly shipped through a company called Global Shipping Agency that sent an email wanting another $150 for “Insurance”. When I told them to return the shipment, they said they needed $120 to do that. When trying to track down reasons for all of this, no phone numbers were ever provided or contact names at Global Shipping." |
