Lexani LX-20 A/S Tires - First Impressions

Greetings all,

I purchased/mounted Lexani’s A/S tires on my ‘20 Camaro 1SS 1LE.
Here is a quick first impressions of the OEM sized tires; 285/30/20 & 305/30/20 respectively.

Upon picking up my car from Firestone Tire, I noticed that the side profile did not look as mean/menacing as the side profile with stock/OEM Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires.

When I arrived at home, I noticed that the Lexani A/S tires are in fact approximately 1.5” narrower than the stock/OEM Goodyear tires. The Lexani A/S front tires measured approximately 10.5” compared to approximately 12” for the stock front Goodyear tires...

You can feel the difference/diminished performance of the Lexani A/S tires. It’s to be expected due to the narrower tires, harder compound & the raised A/S tread. The car, noticeably, doesn’t feel as planted w/the Lexani A/S tires.

OTOH, I got caught in a downpour rain storm & I felt relief knowing I was rolling on A/S tires. The car was stable in a heavy downpour w/speeds shy of 80 mph.
This is exactly why I purchased these tires.

These tires are made in S. Korea, the same place where my phone & TVs were manufactured. Lexani is owned/produced by Nexen Tires, a known commodity of mid-level/good quality tires.
I did my due diligence prior to purchasing these tires & the common theme is that these are very good tires...

I’d agree with other buyers of this tire; for the price (< $700.00 through eBay or Amazon) this is a very good A/S tire. No regrets here.

At the end of the day, I purchased these tires b/c the Camaro is my DD, and car that I plan to commute long distances with. Living in the Midwest, A/S tires are a necessity. If I lived in warmer climates, I would not shy away from Lexani’s performance (non-A/S) tires. They are that good. If I ran the car on track, I’d keep the OEM stock tires...

double check that the 285's are indeed 1.5" in difference? That's nuts...

I thought Coppers were made here in Texas? I bought Michelin Pilot AS3 + great AS tire but that aint 700 buck a set. Keep use updated on the tire wear and whatnot.

Go to Specs and look under country of origin.

Some models are made in USA, some in China.

I Have Them As Well (It's All Good Brother!!!)

I have two sets of factory wheels which I budgeted for prior to purchase of the vehicle. On one set I have Michelin PS4Ss which were on the wheels when I purchased them used from a forum member. I also have the Lexanis on my original wheels because I refuse to own a car I can't drive all year. I have absolutely NO complaints regarding the Lexanis considering the purchase price and intended use. I think I paid closer to $500. I have no idea what I will do when the Michelins wear out ($1600 replacement price).

I also recall that the Lexani stack was indeed shorter than the Supercar 3 stack. I would be interested on a double check of the measurement because I didn't think it was that much shorter total.

I have them on my ZL1. IMO, they are good for daily driving. I haven't had any issues except when you hammer it. I felt a swaying motion under full acceleration. They are not perfect, however, they suit my needs.
