Camaro to pace the Indy 500

Surprisingly the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro convertible in wild cherry will be the official pace car of the running of the 106th Indy 500. Fifty Camaro convertibles will be available to pace the field at the 500 and after that they will be distributed to dealerships for sale. sorry Camaro Fourm, I didn't read the last page and got excited for Camaro pacing the 500, the camaro is there for fleet vehicle services and they are deciding on the C8 to pace the field my apologies.

They’ll all be up for sale locally here soon. Always want a premium for them and honestly not a fan of verts.

No wonder my Wild Cherry tintcoat order wasn't getting picked up. They were busy building these and ran out of paint! Glad I found it at another dealer.

Actually, the pace car is a Corvette again this year. The Camaro is the festival car.

That’s not the pace car. Those are festival cars given to the board member to drive around and promote the race during April and May and then given to local dealers to sell after the race

The official pace car has yet to be announced. Should be mid April (next week?) It is announced

When I first starting reading this post my first reaction was holy cow the camaro is going to be the official pace car but almost every single time I read an article on Google either the last page goes missing or you have to search for more and when I first posted this I found the rest of the Indy 500 report, and it does look like the ZO6 is going to be the official pace car. I did stop at my local Chevrolet dealership when they had one wild cherry metallic camaro in the showroom and with the sunlight hitting off that paint it looked fantastic!!! So those of you that own this car it's going to be pretty special since it was available for only one year.
