Wax removal on vinyl edges

I just purchased a used 17' and I noticed the previous owner waxed the car and you can see the white powdered wax along the edge of the vinyl on the hood and trunk. Anyone else have a safe solution to get rid of the wax residue without harming the vinyl or paint ?

Thought about a toothbrush but wasn't sure the bristles would scratch or not. I'll try both that and water and alcohol.

I personally like Carpro Eraser better than IPA, it works great for removing, wax, sealants, oils, grease, etc.
