Dual mode exhaust vs Aftermarket

The dual mode is one feature that I didn't get on my ss but really wish I had . If one was to get an aftermarket set up I'm guessing you would lose the "active " feature on the exhaust valves? Probably a dumb question and hopefully this has not already been hashed over on the forum . Thanks!

Yes, that's correct. If your car did not come with NPP, then it would not have the integrated exhaust valves. Keep in mind though that it's more of a sound benefit than a power benefit. GM does not advertise a performance benefit with the NPP exhaust.

No, that's not true. If you don't have NPP, then you can't add NPP later. It's possible to do something similar with cutouts and a switch inside the car to open and close them, but it won't be integrated into the car with the drive modes.

If the car has NPP, then some models of axlebacks can fit the NPP valves and keep the dual mode function. Other models of axlebacks will just delete the valves.

There are plenty of good exhaust options for your car. Borla, Corsa, AWE, MBRP and more. A set of cutouts can give you the best of both worlds. Stop by our shop and browse around. Use code CAMARO6 when you're ready to order.

With non-NPP can you get at the least NPP quality sound from an aftermarket exhaust?
