time to replace front pads, and also rotors?

I was told that i needed to have my front brakes serviced by my dealership when i picked up my vehicle from having a torque convertor installed. The stock front pads and rotors are the best stopping option? for street/dragstrip weekends type application. I realize that other pads have far less dust.
Also do you have to replace the rotors as well? If so are aftermarket slotted/drilled,etc. really matter for my application?

I've used the stock pads/rotors for 2 years on track and off, I'm just now at the point where I feel like I'm starting to push them to the point where I might want to take a stronger pad choice.

If you're doing just street and some 1/4 mile runs I see no reason to 'upgrade'.

the stock pads/rotors worked great i only swapped to z26 because i was daily driving the car and the dust was crazy...now i only drive on weekends and have a set of powerstop track day pads and next time i go to the big track will probably put them on and leave them on

I just bought and installed the Powerstop Z26 pads and the slotted and drilled rotors. Just got them on today, so I haven't had much of a chance to test them, but they feel a lot better and damn they look good.

surprise fed ex showed up with my rotors and pads . Yes I went for the slotted and cross drilled because they do look extremely better than stock. I have never been one for cosmetics but they look great. Now to install them! time for YouTube.

How are you enjoying the Powerstops? I have a bout 3000km on them including a couple of good cruise days. So far they work really really well, although I do notice a bit of squeaking in the mornings until they are warmed up.
