ISS brakes feel a little on the weak side

My brakes feel a little on the weak side ..My 2015 Base mustang had a great feel and stopping power ..I have 660 miles on my 1SS and the brakes feel real soft , you have to really go deep to get any stopping power . I had twice needed to come to a quick stop and it didn't feel like I was going to make it ..Once for 70 MPH and I had plenty of room to stop or at least I felt I did , I found myself thinking I wasn't going to make it ..The other time was at much lower speed ( 45 ) , it did stop but it was a very uneasy feeling .. Now I feel I need to put a few more cars between me and the people in front of me ..

Is this normal ? Do the brakes need to be bed in more before they work to their best ?

I'm going to find a empty road some where I can really test them to see if it's just me not putting enough pressure to the pedal ..Or maybe I just need to find the spot in the pedal travel where the antilock kick in ..

Not normal IMO. I have the 2SS, but it has the stock brake setup, and the stopping power is amazing. Never had an issue, the initial bite is good, it gets progressively stronger as I apply more force and the pedal never feels mushy. I'm not an expert, but it might be caused by air bubbles in the brake lines, have you had any brake work done at the dealership perhaps?

There was a video linked from one of the marketing threads that I can't find right now, I think from Chevy Arabia, that showed a 0 to 100 to 0 run in 300-something meters in a stock 2016 SS, that is how the standard brakes should perform. Still looking, I'll update the post if I find it.

2017 1ss here. I find the brakes more than adequate. Better than a 2015 Mustang GT and a 2016 challenger srt8. I have family memebers that own those cars and have driven them quite a bit. The camaro will stop shorter than them both.

Brakes on this car are interesting, they bite hard but the pedal is squishy you just have to keep pushing the brake harder.

Brakes have great performance, but meh feel.

Randy Pobst mentioned the same thing when he drove the 1LE for motortrend.

Driving both SS and SS 1LE on and off track, stock pads, the pedal is a touch long and on the softer side with initial bite, but the car will stop very well. Bed in the brakes and they get some good feel/bite, but still have a touch long pedal travel. The 1LE pads I like, for the most part, but I would prefer a touch more aggressive front pad on the SS. This is in the mindset of a true street/track pad.
