I'm running the 305-35-20 Nitto 555r2s on the street now. Even with my lower hp I can finally log without just blowing the tires right off at the hit of the throttle. I'll get some more logging this week after these storms go thru today. I need a few 10ths so I can run the 11.50 index at the Camaro Fest in July. Still looking for a ported Lt2 I can use my 95mm TB on which might help a little on getting there. I really don't want to do long tubes and xpipe on this car, want to keep it smelling clean.

I believe the LT2s do capture 75% of the mph of a msd but have more low end for cruising around town. I’ll be crazy and say, a LT2 ported correctly, will gain approx 1.25 tenths over the ported stocker. Been a while since I compared them tho

You wouldnt be stretching on that thought as a unported LT2 should be worth a .1 over a unported stocker.

my stock LT2 was worth ~1.5 mph over a pray ported LT1.

edit: i'll be honest, knowing how well the car ran with a bunch of untouched stock parts on it, it's tough not to go back to them and sell the intake manifolds and TBs i have sitting around.

the only thing keeping these parts around is knowing a hc swap is close. and i'm still undecided on msd or hi ram. the more i research the more i see a hi ram only losing 8-10 ft lb in the midrange, but winning everywhere else.

The trade off with the high ram is whatever ur gonna do with the hood.

The power is a win hand down. I’m liking the high ram

In the end fbo got me running .85et and 9 mph
On the same wheels and tire. Not worth nothing

I believe the blue car ran 11.87 @ 117.5 untuned factory stock on the et street r. Rear seat out. Belly pan, sway bar all there. Still being dailyed
Again this is now a long time ago but still likely have the slip somewhere

vfn makes a decent looking hood. that's the only option imo.

i agree bolt ons are 100% worth it. i was referring to the stock LT2/stock tb combo i had on the car that was VERY close in performance to the mamo ported msd & LT5 tb. i gave $188 for the LT2 manifold. both the ported msd & ported hi ram i have are easily worth over $1k each and neither offers much at all for a bolt on car.

i mean, if im gonna cut the cowl a little bit, mise well cut the front of the car up to fit an otr cai, too. i'll at least order the parts im cutting on in case it needs to go back.

I chased my tail for a year until HHP's TCM came out. I was hitting limits that I didn't know where limits, for sure, until I did the swap. Now - no problems. TCM tune is worth it.

How much additional MPH do you think you'd gain in the 1/4 from a Kong Performance ported blower, throttle body and mild tune to remove the throttle position limits of the factory tune? Looking for a bump in performance and remain totally stock in drivability and appearance.

Does the Roto-fab intake really give you any real world performance gains? I know they show a gain on the dyno, but I have a feeling a lot of that is because the stock intake has the filter in an enclosure and the Roto-fab is all opened up. When running on the dyno with the hood open and a huge fan blowing on top of it, I have a feeling most of the gain on the dyno is due to that. I'd be curious to see back to back dyno pulls stock intake vs rotofab with the hood closed.

This has been asked many times. If you're just putting a ported blower on your OEM engine, it'll add 40-50hp. You won't need a new TB, but will probably need a new tune.

Yeah I saw that, what would that translate to mph in the 1/4? You think it’s good for 3-4 mph between the extra power and tuning that allows the throttle to be open the entire time?

Yes, that's pretty close.

What will happen when I add the LT5 throttle body to my stock ZL1? Will it fool the computer into going WOT Or not?? I have read where the throttle body will work on untuned cars.
