NMCA in St Louis. 11.78@116/11.79@120 Time slips added

I was able to get a weight on my Lt1 today, full interior with 3/4 tank of E85. Total weight less driver was 3640 at our local MFA Feed mill. I'll also weight it at the NMCA in St Louis tomorrow since I drove it about 80 miles yesterday and want to be below 3600. Going to run True Street and 1/8 mile bracket race. Don't know how fast it will run but should be in the 11.70s@119. My C7 with same mods went 11.50s@121 but it was 1 couple hundred pounds lighter the Camaro, what may hold the car back is the heat and DA. I think back in 2016 I weighed my 1SS bone stock and it was about 3670 if I remember correctly and it was on the same scales. I finally was able to get some 305 35 20 Nitto 555 R2 Drag Radials. My 16 SS ran 12.04@116 bone stock before I started modding it where we finally ran 9.41@147. I didn't get to run this car bone stock but based off what my old car ran with a drag pack and Roto Fab (11.71@120) I think I'll be close to my estimate. We will find out in the morning.

I'm weighing my 1LE tomorrow morning at an NHRA track and expect something closer to 3725

First pass out on track it ran
11.78@116 1.78 60ft temps76 DA 2280
11.79@121 1.75 60ft 86 DA 2915
I was running True Street so I was in the 12.00 class and you get 3 passes with the best average of the 3. Added gallons of E85 which would help to slow the car down at little. For our 30 mile drive which ended up only 15 miles around the Wwt raceway 1 mile oval which was pretty cool. Road in Illinois are horrible so they decided the track was better and easier for all drivers and cars. So we finished that and back to the staging lanes for a 15 minute cool down (can't lift the hood) and by now it already close to 90 degrees and Temps close to 90 degrees.
1st pass in elimination I ran
11.965@120.24 1.793 60 ft.
11.977@114.09 1.826 60 ft
12.034@110.42 1.809 60 ft
Best average was 11.992 so broke out, just needed to knock a little more off of one of the passes to make my average 12.00.
Car weight on WWTRaceway scales with driver and 3/8 tank of E85 was 3820 and I weigh 195 so basically 3625 with full interior. The 305-35s Nitto R2s are heavier than the 285-35-20 G2s. So really close to the scales at MFA Feed Mill. The heat soak was really killing my 60ft and 1/8 times on the 3 passes but it was making good power on the top end. I'll post some time slip later.

that is odd. 5 mph faster and the car was 1 thou slower to the stripe? be curious what the time slip shows.

nonetheless, those auto cars run good for minimal mods.

Tune, E85 (E65 from the pump), Roto Fab intake. I always lower all my cars and trucks and this one is no different. Its lowered 1.5 in front and 1.0 in the rear and good Aero is important for bigger MPH. My C7 really had a big MPH for the mods and it was lowered. My 16 SS was lower and it ran 147 mph so but I'd run 149 on a slightly slower pass. No big wing or tall spoilers since those are top end killers. The splitter helps push the air around the car and not under it. I also added the under body covers that the 1ss and 2ss cars have which keeps noise and turbulence down under the car. I'll probably do a ported MSD and 95 MM someday if I find a good deal or a ported Lt2. I doI have a guy helping my tune that really knows how to make them run on the big end. If we could work with the Tranny we'd be running 11.40s or 11.50s but can't touch that right now. I think on a day where the DA is 500 and temps in the 60 we could go 11.60s like it sets. TEMP and DA are hp killers for an NA Car.

I've got a ported Lt1 intake in a box but don't have a ported TB to put with it so thats a waste of time if don't have both. I'll wait till I can find a ported 95 or sell the ported Lt1 intake and find a ported Lt2 intake and then find the 95mm to put with it and then we'll retune again to see if it makes anymore power. I never go by how much power it makes on the dyno its the power it makes down track and I think the Roto Fab shines on the big end where the stock box just won't make the power up top at the track.

Ok, great info. The differences are, I moded my OE air box, LT2 intake with stock throttle body, tuned on E70 pump, no aero changes, no splitter in the front, underneath the car is wide open. I wouldnt love to hook up with someone that is confident on tuning the A10 with the TCM from HHP, it is supposed to be worth a couple of tenths. BTW are you going the traps at the very top of 5th gear when you trapped 121 mph. I saw 120 come up on the speedo and the tach was about 6200 . Oh maybe not for you with the 28.4 tall tire but the ET street R are supposed to be 28 - 28.1 versus 27.8 on the ET street SS tires

I think its shifting to 6th. Since I didn't log I really don't remember. My A8 in the C7 we figured out how to keep it in 5th so that's one reason why my mph was higher. Shifting to 6th kills the mph.

I'm not benefiting from those tall tires thru the 1/8. Would have been better off with a 275-35-20 but they just look to short at 27.66, they are actually short then my 245-40s on the front. They taller tire may be helping down track and keeping it in 5th gear if it is. I'm thinking back now that it probably is still in 5th. I'll log next time out to make sure.

With those IMO overly-tall 305/35s, you should easily be able to move the shifter over to manual in 5th gear if the locked trans is short-shifting into 6th currently. Based on what my car did in the A8 4th gear with the MT 305/45-17 at 6500 rpm, I could see the A10 5th gear making 129mph at 6500 rpm with that 28.1" tire. Your tire is even taller than that. Honestly, I think that even the 275/35-20 could have likely made the stripe if you held 5th gear manually, maybe ~123mph@6500, or a scosh more?
