Count me in for beadlocks, too. My car will spin the wheel in the tires on the street. Given - my wheels are cheap, but I would've just ordered some Welds if I were to do it over again. I'll have to try some tack or something to see if that helps, but it's a pain.

Was about to order the MT Street R but I’m hearing I should go with the MT Street R bias ply….because I have a manual, around 640whp. Do you agree? I planned on keeping the original wheels/tires up front. Will this cause the vehicle to feel more unstable down the track? Hope I’m making sense…
You don't need bead locks at your power level. Also, the wheel depends on whether you're racing the course or strip or is it just a DD. I tried Et street R/bead lock and it wobbled like crazy at speed. It now drives straight as an arrow with 275 and 325/19 Toyo R888R

I started using Permatex High Contact Cement instead of going beadlocks. I first started using it on my 16 SS as it was spinning the MT street Rs on the wheels. I talked to MT tech and they told me about the Permatex and I verified that with Kent's Hot Rod Garage where I was buying my Race Star Drag Packs. He said the same thing. I used it on my C7 and now on my 2022 Lt1 as I'm running the Nitto 555 R2s on the street and drag strip. My SS was cutting 1.35s and running 9.40s@147 and it never spun the tires on the wheels after we did the Permatex on the beads of the wheel/tire.

I ran them on my C7 bolt on ride. I ran the Nitto 555r2 305-35-19s on the street and 285-40-18s on the drag pack. I ran the best of 10.90 and 128 was best trap speed, best 60ft was 1.56. Now I'm running them on my 2022 Lt1 on the street and drag strip, they are 305-35-20 R2s.

I've got 345s on order, but most Nittos have been out of stock nationwide for months. I run NT01 fronts.

It was a tough spring finding drag radials. I originally wanted 295s R2s but they just weren't building them so went to the 305 which probably hurts my 60' and 1/8 mile times but I didn't want to go down to the 275s either. They don't fill the fender well like the 305s do and I drive it more on the street then drag race it.

What happened to the shift points after going to a taller tire?
I’m guessing this doesn’t get updated when you change the speedo in hpt?

U guys convinced me to get a set of nt555r2 in the 295 when they start making them again

Shifted on time with no issues, all I did was change the circumference to 27.8 from 27.2 or 27.3, don't remember which it was. King is also running the 305 so that 27.8 is what he had his set at, in HP Tuners its in the edit under tire/gear wizard. Gives you the option to change tire or final gear ratio.

Awesome might go that route.

Do they hold on the street in 1st gear without a burnout? I’m considering selling my 17” et street r and just running these full time. Then wouldn’t have to swap wheels

I run a 17x10 with a 305 ET street SS. No burnout needed at the track and it sticks like glue on the street.

This pass was like foot braking it to 1k then just stabbing it.

They hold pretty well depending on the type of pavement. I'm running about 29 psi in the tires, on concrete I can get on it from a dig and barely breaks the tires loose. Asphalt depending on how rough it is does really well also. Smooth asphalt nothing hooks very well. At least I can log now without blowing the tires off at the hit. My G2s wouldn't hold at all, sideways Jonesing thru 2nd gear.

Really good info in here from guys that have been on the front lines.

I didn't realize how drastic of a change in choosing a dragpack would be when doubling your horsepower.

Years ago Laynlo and I had a conversation about wheel/tire setup. He had alot of experience racing his C5. (6 speed too) I was such a newbie I couldn't follow very well. Wish I had taken notes!
The tire height
Slick vs Drag radial
Gearing

6 speed + boost is gonna be a bit more particular.
Best combo for the street so far is a set of cheap lightweight 19's with 285/30/19 Mickey Thompsons.
I put 255/30/19 Mickey Thompson street tires (can rotate from left to right) on the front.

I think I'm done trying to track this car because I would probably need to upgrade axles and driveshaft even on my basic setup.

Thanks for the info guys.
I'm really impressed with the development for this platform these past couple years
