93 Tune + Ported TB + Upper Pulley

Are these mods good to do? Will it over heat if I add the pulley? I just do not want to do flex fuel because the inconvenience of mixing E and 93

Not the best way to go IMO. Ported blower, 95mm TB, and E85 would be a much better setup, allow much more timing, and make a lot less heat. Just my 2 cents of course.

Should be fine if all you're looking for is a modest increase in power.

What else do you need to run that setup safely?

The problem is you'll be creating a lot of heat in that situation by swapping out the pulley. When you create all that extra heat you can't run as much timing which is where the power gains come from. 93 and a pulley is just not ideal on an otherwise OE setup.

Nothing really. A good tune obviously and I’d do a JMS voltage booster to hedge my bets on a stock ZL1. But that’s a much better option than the original post IMO.

What would that make on an otherwise stock car + intake? Like 630whp?

It's really not that much extra heat as long as the pulley selection is reasonable. A 9.45 lower would need some cooling upgrades.

I don't disagree that E blend would be ideal but he doesn't want to fool with blending so...I think what he was recommended is very safe and affordable too.

A 9.06 requires 94 or 95 octane to run reliably without knock. At least it does in California. I can't speak for other states but out here the fuel available at pumps is ATROCIOUS which in turn limits the amount of pulley size you can run before you are getting the OE blower too hot to the point where you are creating power loss.

You must have some terrible gas. I'm running a 9.45 on 93 octane with no knock. Katech would have steered him in a different direction if it wouldn't work on 93. Vengeance Racing also has many packages with pullies using 93 octane.

Even if you don’t mess with E, the ported blower + 95mm TB combo is better than a pulley + ported TB. Blower efficiency is higher and IATs are lower.
