Broken vanity mirror in sun visor
Went to use the driver's side vanity mirror for the first time and it was cracked, badly. I wanted to put in my new contacts from the eye doctor, so I flipped the visor down, slid the door open and got a lap full glass. Needless to say, but I ended up not putting them in. I looked at the visor briefly and can not figure out how to replace the mirror. A used visor is $70+. Anyway, can the mirror be replaced or do I need a new visor?

That sucks, I'd imagine you'll need a new visor, or a used one.

Yea, your right. Checked it out last night. Looks like the mirror & slide were in place before the two halves of the plastic visor were mated. The only other option would be to break out the rest of the mirror and have the local glass shop cut a piece just to fit the opening. But I hate to half-a** anything. I can't be certain, but it may have happened when I was vacuuming. If the headrest is all the way up, the seat is forward, the back rest is tilted forward and the power seat is raised up, the head rest will hit headliner/visor area. Oh well.

What the heck, check with your dealer to see if by some chance they'll replace in under warranty.
Doesn't hurt to ask. |
