my priorities have always laid with car stuff. gas prices are whatever. gotta have it, i fill up the dd once every 3 weeks. usually fill the camaro up a couple times a weekend.

the prices of gas have not affected what i do, at all. i'm not rich or wealthy, im an inherent tight ass with old everything. i stocked up on oil (about 20 gallons now) and filters out of difficulty finding it late last year and early this year. the car is my safe space and it will be the absolute last place i make any concessions.

Me too, but the second I have a say to change this situation, I go for it.

Price for gas North of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is 2.00$ CAN per Liter, 91 octane is 2.30$ and 94 2.45$, issue that I have is every station has a different price for 91 & 94 you have to know what station has the best price as you could pay 10 cents more at a station if not careful. We have no prices listed for Premium fuel on the display so you go to the station with the lowest price they may charge 40 plus cents extra for 91 or 94.
Our Government has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world 90% of it in Alberta and the Government throws up roadblocks at every curve to not expand our extraction and export of these recourses. The electric cars are going to solve all the problems we have with ICE cars, what a crock of dung, we are just going to replace one group of problems with another.

My solution. 2011 Honda Fit Sport 5MT beater commute car. $60 fillup every week vs $120 with the Camaro. Also I think the face on my Greta Thunberg "How Dare You?" sticker is slightly less angry. Camaro is now the weekend / Ax / Track car.

I wonder if used cars like this are flying off the shelves at this point.

Ummm. What's ROI on that bad boy? You would need to pay less than 240 a month for it, including insurance.

I put my 2011 Ford Fusion V6 Flex fuel, end of March, for a Camaro. They said it was sold - before we finished paper work. I wonder what would happen if I couldn't get insurance that day - 1 hour from home, and it was getting late lol.

I hear ya on this one! My Camaro is also my " own escape" and do what it takes to enjoy it, no matter the price.

^ THIS! 100% I could be feeling like shit and just a short 10 minute cruise will cheer me up and positively alter my mood. Hell, sometimes I just glance at it outside and I puts a big smile on my face. I can hear it idling when it is turned off.

It was 7 grand cash. I commute 40 weeks a year so it probably has a 4 year payback when you figure in maintenance, insurance, consumables, etc. I needed a 4 seat car that can carry large items for errands anyways.

OK, so it wasn't only to save gas.

Otherwise... 4 years isn't that great. We would hope to get normal gas prices to come way sooner. I prefer to over pay for gas, than to over pay for having two cars.

I hope gas prices come back down but it's not a sure thing. We'd have to see major changes to ease supply chain complications, economic stability, and clear policy outside of just asking gas stations to charge less (which btw is not where they make the majority of their profits).
