I've been buying muscle cars and 4x4's since 1980, that's been my experience as well. I'll only own manual trans vehicles, and not many manufacturers offer manuals anymore.

I had to find my camaro 6-speed, and had to order a manual Tacoma from the factory, and that's the only manual trans Toyota offers anymore is in the Tacoma.

Driving performance cars is meant to be a connection between driver and machine, a manual trans provides a superior experience in that way, IMO.

But I'm old and set in my ways , may not be that way for the younger crowd anymore?

My 85 y.o. mother has a 02 v6 Tacoma 4 Dr with 137,000 mi. The automatic transmission had to be rebuilt a month ago. She got it 1 yr old with 20 k miles on it, never abused. Save the manuals

Last 20 years or so have been hard on manual transmissions as autos far outnumber them and availability keeps dropping. Manuals will always command more money, same goes for the loud colors instead of the boring black, red,etc that everyone seems to get.

You probably meant boring black, gray and white Only a very small percentage of Camaros came in the my color (garnet red), and even the "standard" red hot color is nowhere near as popular as black/gray/white.

I would agree to some extent but I think it would be offset by the continued shrinking percentage of folks who want them and the fact that automatics have improved so much recently. For example, I am not convinced a ZL1 6-speed in Shock will command any more money than a Red ZL1 with an A10. Maybe a collector?

I went through this decision with my latest ZL1 purchase. In this particular car I feel the A10 is the superior transmission even though I prefer to row my own gears. The M6 in ZL1 gets very tall gears, some funky torque management (bog issue) and doesn't keep you in the boost sweet spot as well as A10. Now, if we are talking SS 1LE I would prefer the M6 over the A10.

I drove nothing but manual Camaros and Corvettes when they were quicker than automatics. Not anymore though, the A10 is an incredible piece of work. I used to put the work into finding manuals, and would pay a little extra for them, but would not and did not this time around.

It’s harder to read your phone with a manual.

Been telling my lazy no shifting buddies this for years! The manuals bring the coin, just look at any Barrett Jackson auction or Bring a Trailer.

Those two are clown shows. Anyone with a brain who wants a car, goes private transaction. The former two are dick swinging competitions and that is all.

Either way, they still prove the residual difference between the same car with and auto vs a stick

I'm not sure were some are getting their info but, in my area manuals do not bring higher prices. If your looking at Barrett Jackson for information your looking in the wrong place. Sure in 20 years when the car is a classic limited options do help bring more money like a manual trans but, if you go to KBB or any comparable price guild the auto is valued higher.

Don't get me wrong I've owned several manual transmission cars over the years and hate to see that option go but at the end of the day I think it's going to take the car getting more of a collector status before it yield more money for the 6GEN stick shift option.
