Detach silver decor thing from steering wheel
Good day, guys!
I want to paint matte black this ugly silver/chrome thing on steering wheel. How to detach it properly from the wheel? Does anyone had such an experience? |

You pop off the air bag and it pops out with a upholstery removal tool.
I wrapped mine.

Yep, have to remove the air bag. You need two little screwdrivers, and the wheel upside down. It's a pain, but doable. I got rid of all the chrome on my steering wheel--that chrome bezel and the bowtie emblem on the airbag, too. Never failed, the sun would hit the chrome and blind me.
Video I used on how to remove airbag:

I'd like to get a detachable because of my Kirkey seat but I like my cruise control lol. I thought about rewiring a momentary switch so I can have both

Got it. Thanks, guys!
Yea, this 5th gen wheel is ugly, but I'm using cruise and phone answer buttons very often. |
