Doors lock by themselves

Had this car for a few years and never had this problem. Two weeks ago I was getting ready to leave and my car doors were locked. I never lock the doors and the key stays in the car(not in the ignition) since it’s in my garage. Went to leave today and had the same problem. Anyone have an idea of what could be causing this all of a sudden. I haven’t made any changes to anything in months.

Mine does this occasionally and seems to be worse after washing it. There have been discussions that it’s a chafed wire or corroded connector in the door or hinge area but I haven’t seen any post that confirmed this. I just live with mine.

Hmmm, my FOB batteries are 12 years old and still work great. Have never had to replace them..

There are some settings in the config menu you could look at, just to make sure.

I will try this, won’t hurt anything.

I took the factory radio out a few years ago and do not have this option anymore unfortunately. Good thought though.

If your vehicle battery is dead/dying this can happen, too. Haven't verified on my car specifically, but I do know that some cars when the battery is disconnected/reconnected it will/can lock the doors.

Mine started doing this randomly also. I would say it started late last summer and probably can count on one hand how many times this has happened. So not often.
Car battery was replaced in November of 2019 and replaced both fob batteries maybe 3-5 yrs ago.
Only noticed it when washing/cleaning when opening and closing the doors they sometime lock themselves.
I will add my car has been sitting for long periods since COVID hit and I have worked from home most of the time. As gtstorey said so far I just live with it.

I've looked through the settings for any type of auto lock feature and didn't find anything that looks even close to right. Really mine is to random to be anything it's "supposed" to be doing.

Your remote control door lock receiver operates on the class 2 communication network and the radio does as well. If I was working on your car the first thing I would do is disconnect the radio and see if the problem goes away. I know what your going to say, the radio has been in there for a long time without any problems.....but I've encountered this many times. They work fine until they don't.

Doesn’t everything work fine until it don’t? I did have a problem with that a while back but it was for locking/unlocking at a distance.
