No letter, but at dealer for inspection today and they said, OBW, recall for left half shaft heat treat. They
Inspected, needs replaced, part here next week................ |

Is it because they could foresee it being a safety issue? I remember things like "special warranty coverage extension" for the LB7 duramax injectors and things like that but I have never heard of them voluntarily recalling a defective part for free. Normally it would just be a part of a TSB? |

Parts came in last week, scheduled appointment, they said it was a re-call, I
did not receive a letter. No charge, all good! |

I've noticed this spring that one of my half shafts appears to be squeaking (at least when I back out of my garage). I'm not even sure what to make of this.
