2019 HomeLink
Looks like there still isn’t a solution for the 2019s and HomeLink..
Although I’m curious about us who don’t have the camera rear view mirror. Is it somehow possible to swap the mirror for one of the onstar enabled mirrors then swap the dome light unit for one with HomeLink? Has anyone found any other solutions? This is pretty much the only thing i’m really missing from my old car. Seems like the only option here is somehow rigging one up in the sun visor, or swapping the mirror with a homelink capable one. |

I am considering buying this:
https://www.amazon.com/HomeLink-60-H...6673075&sr=8-6 You just connect it to ground, a 12 volt constant source and a 12 volt headlamp source. I think it should fit in the headliner right behind the overhead console, don't you? |

From what I understand that's feasible on models without a sunroof, but with the sunroof there's no provision for it since they moved the onstar buttons to where the Homelink buttons used to be in the console. So on models without the sunroof you can locate your aftermarket Homelink in the spot where the sunroof switch would be but if you have a sunroof there's nowhere to put the buttons now.

(Cough, cough) Uhmmm, those of us with 2018 or earlier don't have to be concerned with this. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I'm getting it in the mail this weekend. Before I can proceed I need to verify two voltage sources: 12v constant, 12v switched via headlamp. I'm not sure if there are both in the overhead console or if I'll need to run the wiring all the way to the fuse box. Modern cars don't have 12v and headlamp 12v available where you'd think they are anymore...... lots of canbus stuff now.

Hey man, why rub it in, it isn't his fault, GM dropped the ball on this one (too). Fortunately there are ways around it, and he can even get a backlit homelink switch panel.
