Vararam DRX review with time slips

AI've been wanting this intake for a while finally picked one up last week. The installation was pretty easy except the silver screws didn't fit the washer bottle motor. My my original maf screws did. Back in September I did a few passes at the track. My best time was 12.700. Saturday I went back the only change was the intake from airaid to vararam plus tuning by Dynosteve.

That's not bad at all, difference of .3 seconds. BUT answer these questions please.
1. What parameters did the new tune change?
2. Was the temperature and humidity similar for both if those days?

I'm wondering if 100% of the gains was the intake or if other factors helped out.

I didn't ask Steve what he did I assume add fuel. I sent him a data log and he said changes were needed but didn't say what.

Wait he actually made changes based on a datalog?! I tried a handful of times to get him to make changes to my tune and was always told 'no need, it's good to go!'. It wasn't tuned well.

Good for you to actually get him to tune your car. And good runs.

Yes he asked me to send him a data log. I've never had a bad experience with him. He's always acted professionally in my experience.

it looks like you gain a few HP according to your trap speed. if anything probably like 10 hp. your trap speeds are still consistent. only major change is in the 1/8 mile times.

I see track prep being the major factor here. 60 was almost 2 tenths quicker..... If you wanted a real intake test just swap them at the track. I have been involved in real time testing its a lot of fun and you get actual feed back and no guessing.

If you use the second and third slip theres only a 10th difference. The other two were bed because of tire pressure and the last one I red lit and i should have thrown that one out.

2 mph in the eight. I have 3.91 gears which affect my trap speed in the quarter

What other mods did you have? Looked like your 60ft was better, that's probably where a lot of the gains are coming from is getting it out of the hole.
