The fact of the matter is that GM doesn’t give a damn about the Camaro and would probably like to kill it and blame it on anyone - buyers, dealers, the govt. and try to walk away with innocent hands. Meanwhile Ford and Chrysler are doing whatever is necessary to keep feeding the enthusiast market.
By feeding the enthusiast market do you mean turning the Mustang into a SUV?

No one really thinks that thing is a Mustang, no more than they think the Blazer is a Blazer. But on the other hand, the thing looks like it’s going to be a good Tesla competitor.

I read a study that no one leaving California is evening using the brakes.
Another year of mass exodus and the copper levels should look pretty good

There’s a lot of fact to that. The only problem is they just reinstate stupidity to where ever it is they move. Colorado is a prime example.

SS, 1LE, & ZL1 Camaros will be back on sale in 2022 in California and Washington State

"We will resume allowing customers in California and Washington state to order the Camaro SS, ZL1 and 1LE models in 2022 model year when we introduce a new brake system that is compliant with the copper requirements," Chevy said in a statement to Motor1.com.

I would just quit selling cars in California and let them all drive Teslas. Who needs the headache?

SMH. So just walk away from one of the largest auto markets and largest economies in the WORLD? That makes a lot of sense for the sake of a model that’s barely sold 40k vehicles this year and I bet a quarter of that number were V6 rental cars.

Like I keep saying, GM could give a rat’s ass about the Camaro.

You don't have to sell cars to everyone or everywhere to make money. Pick a market where you can make money and sell there.

Who cares if GM is in love with the Camaro or not. If you don't like the factory support your getting drive a Furd.

This is not an emotional decision for anyone.

Ever since I can remember manufacturers have made exceptions for cars sold in California. Either "only available California" or not. GM will probably have a California only brake system in future models.

How about a big yellow sticker on the steering wheel especially on the 1LE, “California Only Braking System. NOT SUITABLE FOR TRACK OR COMPETITION USE”

snikker

California has almost 40 million people. They have about 15 million registered vehicles, almost twice the next highest state. So you’re saying because they got their hand slapped for one year they should walk away from what is possibly one of their most lucrative markets because they can’t sell a few thousand cars that basically no one is buying anyway? You’re basically saying they should become a niche or boutique company and the hell with market share. That would go over like a fart in church in regards to the stock market.

I agree it’s not an emotional issue - to me it’s about sound business practices. GM has done a lot of stupid stuff IMO over the years but I care more about my 401k than whether the Camaro is sold in Cali.

I'm not telling GM what to do. They should know what is best for them, (make no mistake, it could be best for them not to sell Camaros in California). I'm saying I would not do business there, i.e. WWYD?.

FYI, niche markets are frequently the highest margin markets.

As for the stock market, I don't think they much care what GM is doing. GM does not make up much of the market anymore.
