If you have not read up on the low speed detonation with DGI engines I would. I thought it was a bunch of BS by a few companies but the more I look into it, the more it is real. Now that all being said the only company that seems to really be digging into it is Driven. I have always used RedLine, Motul, or Castrol in most of my cars and it seems Motul has known about it, and is working on something just for these kinds of engines but right now the only one they suggest using is their 8100 XClean (if I remember right).

I’m still trying to figure out what to put in the car myself as it’s first oil change is quickly approaching.

Google Lake Speed’s video’s on it...explains a bit more in detail.

Why not stick with Mobil 1 stock oil?

I personally experience more engine noise using M1.

I see no reason not to stay within the warranty confines of the GM Dexos rated oils. I've used Valvoline, Supertech, and both performed fine (w/ Blackstone results to prove it: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=501997). I now have Mobil1 0w40 ESP Formula in my car and will have a Blackstone report in about 9-10 months when I do my next change.

OP, if you have not yet watched the Project Farm series of oil comparison videos, you're in for a treat.

The entire series can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...9e056Q8O5krrCW

This is the finale:

98% of you will have traded up to a C8 or into another car long before this even begins to be an issue
