How much to completely change out Auto trans for Manual trans?

I just bought a 2017 Camaro 2SS. I would like to have an idea of what it would cost to switch out the A8 for a M6. I don't plan on doing this any time soon obviously, however I would like an idea. More importantly, how long does it take to switch out a trans on average? I think I'd be more stressed not having my car than paying to get a brand new transmission put in after a couple years of using my A8.

I looked online and saw that a manual trans costs about $3.5K just for the trans and then of course service would be money on that.

Any ideas? Much appreciated.

More then you would want to hear. The exact TR-6060 in there is way more then $3500, plus you need the clutch, flywheel, pedal assembly, software/computer updates and tuning, labor, etc, etc...I would say in the end about ten grand.

Would be easier, and not kill your warranty, to just trade in your car if it came down to it.

That is what I came up with. Most likely wire harnesses as well, striping out half the car, etc.
10K easy.

Don't even think about it. Just trade your car.

There are electronic systems built into the car that interact with the automatic transmission that would go haywire if you suddenly swapped out the transmission. Sounds like a nightmare.

Easier and cheaper to just trade.

Your not to far from me and I have a m6 2ss. If you ever really want to trade I might entertain the idea. I love m6 but in stop and go its work.

Thanks for the advice guys. As I said I won't be doing it any time soon so and a trade seems to be the only logical option when that time comes.

Whitemaro6: You'd have to call yourself Blackmaro if we traded, haha. But really, I don't plan on it for at least 8 months from now so if you're still around then perhaps we can chat about it.

Yeah, the buyer's remorse is slowly setting in. The A8 is great and I enjoy it, but I think for me I realized a little late that I want to be more involved in the driving experience.

Competition mode really changed my mind on the A8 - I love it now - don't miss the manual

As in track mode and two taps of traction control button?

I've yet to try competition mode yet. What does it have over track mode? I usually use sport mode so that I have that nice growl when I turn it on and naturally so I can use more gas.

It just changed the shift points for the automatic transmission and raises the thresholds on the traction control.
