Question New tires

Just checking to see if I am getting a decent deal and it is a good tire? Stock staggered 20" Firestone Indy 500's, $791.00 installed??

Thanks,

Lou

It's probably just me, but I wouldn't put Firestone tires on my tricycle. Had a terrible set years ago and have several friends who have had bad luck with their quality.

If that's for all 4 that is a really good price. I don't have any experience with Firestone but they can't be much worse than the P-Zero's. I have 26K miles and I just put on a new set of 4 P-Zero's. The rear's were like banana skins and should have been replaced a lot sooner. My fronts had some decent tread left but I had a belt separation on one and it made the front end vibrate.

The only reason I bought another set of Pirelli's is because one of my best friends owns a tire shop and took this set of Pirelli's off of a Camaro SS that only had 120 miles on them. They came from a guy that ordered a new set of 22" tires and my buddy bought the set of 20" for $500 and sold them to me mounted and balanced for his cost of $500. My next set will be Veldenstein (not sure how to spell it) Tires, I have heard from a couple of fellow Camaro owners that said they are great tires.

No seriously, I don't know what it is. But back in 2010 when I bought my 06 Ford Expedition, Firestone ripped me off hard... maybe it was because I was 18 at the time and they just saw $$$ in their eyes...

But anyways, purchased a set of $800 tires from them. They weren't balanced correctly and I needed to have the rears replaced like 4 months later. (Just over 100 days).

Brought them back, they replaced the rears and tried to juice me for some "just as good ones". So I did, then those wore down on me quickly after alignment and all that was straightened out.

I got tired (LOL) of it and went to a local tire guy, he mentioned that Firestone was junk and told me to stay away.... never again.

yes please stay away from firestone theres a reason they are super cheap

think of it this way
$800 now and $800 later

or

~$1300 now that will last twice as long

I had a set on my Z28 and I had no problem with them at all. They were very smooth riding and quiet and still had plenty of tread after 15,000 miles. Indy cars drive at well over 200 mph on Firestones.

I have Firehawk A/S and love 'em.

Use nothing but Firestone Transforce on all our 3/4 ton trucks at work...great tires.

I too had issues, back in the '80's with 721 radials....what a piece of junk!

I bought the Firehawks from Tire Rack and had them installed at a NON-Firestone tire shop.

I bought a set of Firestone tires for my 2010 Challenger and never could get them balanced. I had them road-force balanced and the tec guy said they couldn't be balanced but he got them as best as could be. I got so tired of the shifter and steering wheel shimmie I drove it to the Chevrolet dealer and now drive a Camaro.

I just put 4 falkens on my car...the 295 40 20s on the back really look like a lot of tire. They look great.

Those are nice tires. I put Falkens on my wife's car a few years back. They are excellent.
