Apple CarPlay just decided to quit working…
Driving home from ATL to AUS, as soon as I crossed into TX, CarPlay quit. I pulled over and shut down both the car and my phone and opened the DS door to kill ACC / Radio power and rebooted it, then replugged in my freshly booted phone…. nope…
I can’t get it to come back. This is going to be a boring remaining 5 hours. |

So... What happens instead of it working?
Does it not connect? It crashes? Nothing at all on the screen? |

Mine recently did this I think two(?) months ago. It would not work at any point during my ~15min drive. After I let the car sit for a few hours, it suddenly started working again. Same cable, same phone. Don't know what caused the issue or why it started working again. Just my experience, the car seems to be a bit quirky at times.

There are definitely some "quirky bits" about the car, but the cable comment is a great one. Get a different, certified cable that is in good condition and try it out.
I will add... If you have ANYTHING else plugged into the USB ports, unplug it. |

also make sure sirius is on..i couldn't get mine to work untill that was turned on.

Had the exact same thing happen - replaced with a real apple cable and it's never had a problem since.

not sure lol. but i couldn't get my car play to work..was a while back. think it was because i didn't have siri switched on..

not sirus..enable siri..worked for me..wouldn't work untill it was switched on

Just upgraded to IOS 14.8. Last night in middle of phone conversation, crazy echo and static and then volume fully cranked still results in low volume on phone call. Turned off phone for about a minute and tried again. Still was low volume. Weird. Happened before I upgraded too sometimes.
Amazon music is truly a mess. Songs just stop in the middle and move on to the next in shuffle mode and 75% of the time can’t scroll artists past the “Bs” alphabetically. Had my phone paired in my Mom’s Sonata for 9 weeks when I visited. No issues ever. Something is wonky with CarPlay in this car. Only Waze seems to be trouble free. And I use the oem apple cable that came with my phone. I did have another cable plugged into the other USB port but nothing was attached to it. Can’t see why that would matter.
