Go buy a volt or cruze bro. I currently get 13.5mpg in my SS and 12.5mpg in my Envoy. Lol.

The benefit of having a badass performance car far outweighs the cost to put in the fuel.

Hey when I get something I try to find the best things that benefit everything including mpg. I know I'll get answers like "why did you get it" but the whole point is to find out why it's so low when many others get better I'm not asking for 25-27 mpg now tf hah. You think something up with the car though if I get 14? Believe me I don't drive it HARD MOST OF THE TIME. Thanks for quick replies btw....

If you're complaining about 14 mpg in a 400 hp car.

You're driving the wrong car

According to the dash display I'm averaging 15.4mpg. I never did it manually to check. Adding the bigger tires is going to sap some more once they go on I'm sure. Then the headers and tune. By the time I add a supercharger I'll be happy with 12mpg.

I get what you are asking.

I wonder the same thing sometimes, but in reverse. How some guys are getting only 12-13 mpg when I am getting 19 mpg on average. I just figure it has to do with some people simply having a 'heavier foot'.

There does seem to be a discrepancy between what similarly spec'd cars are getting, mpg wise. I have seen some even say they are getting 23-24 mpg w/ a bolt on SS. I have no idea how the F that is happening.

You might want to look at your average MPH. The lower that is the lower your MPG will be. Idling this 6.2L engine will use ½ gallon/hour without the air on.
Sitting in stop-and-go traffic can really lower your mileage.

I guess some of us just don't understand the question, in the first place. We bought this car to push its performance to the limits, not its fuel mileage. If you are trying to stretch the mpg, then you aren't maximizing the performance of that BEAST of yours.

I do understand knowing the range of mpg on 'any' vehicle, but for a performance car that's something I'll read on the window sticker... once I sit in the driver's seat I couldn't care less! I would buy a car that specializes in mpg if I wanted to push those limits.

My Camaro might be getting some of the lowest MPG on this forum, I rarely get above 15mpg and regularly under 10mpg. (Rear tires are expensive too, but that's another thing that I accepted when I pulled out of the dealership.)

don't believe everything you read on the interwebs, 14mpg in a 400hp car is about it if your doing a fair amount of city driving. if your cruising highway you can do OK with the cylinder deactivation if your driving conservatively and shutting down half the motor. but if you drive even somewhat aggressive your not going to get much.

hell, I have a V6, rarely "get on it", drive about 60% highway, and seldom see over 21mpg. these cars simply don't get great mpg. it's not how they're engineered.

After 3 years of owning a 2SS/LS3 my average mpg said 20.8mpg. Where and how you drive make a huge difference. I'm a very efficient driver. This one time on my way to work on a 2 mile stretch of road I counted 17 times the person in front of me hit their brakes to my one and I was keeping the same distance behind them. Even with the same car and driver the mpg difference between a mountain back road with some stops, city, and open traffic free highway will be dramatically different in mpg.
