Yeah his info on that intake is a head scratcher from the start. I’ll say this, I wouldn’t port the lt2.
The ports are good out of the box, I wouldn’t touch it. If he’s taking a lot of material out like porting a lt1, thatll make it lose power. So to me, the real comparison is a pray ported LT1 vs a stock LT2 with only a ported snout to match the 95mm. I’ll take the stock LT2 all day. The reason I say this, is my track numbers match gpi dyno number gains. GM has published the results of the lt2 vs the lt1. I really question a lot from those shops these days unfortunately

Lt2 is easy small economical gain in hp. Especially if you clearance it and add brake booster yourself. I got back to back data on same road and similar air. It was worth a tenth and 1.5mph on my stock car. No tune

For my needs, it worked amazing. I needed more power over 5800 and it delivered for road course work. Data doesn’t lie…

I tried it and my take away if you can’t afford the MSD go with the LT2. If GPI test result are accurate then I say the LT2 is worth its money for a budget minded person. Plus the look of the LT2 with cover is way better looking than the stock LT1 in a purely cosmetic point.

So many companies and people port, it’s like dyno runs at different shop always subjectable & and based on how well they do it. Porting makes a difference in high performance builds and not so much in low power builds IMO.

i went from a pray ported lt1 to a stock lt2 with a stock tb on both. the car picked up 1.5+ mph. no changes to the tune.

lt2 manifold makes more power than lt1 manifold! It may not be better than msd, but its a improvement over lt1. its why the c8 has it...

I am not saying it's not worth it. I have seen plenty of folks report gains with it over the years. I just think it's funny and had to share since it's slow in here.
If you want my opinion, I think Brett is over the "bolt-on" game and has focused his business model on selling parts that support growth and higher dollar packages. More money spent per customer. So this is just a marketing ploy to get folks to buy an MSD or Highram because in the end they better support a Heads/Cam and/or larger cube setup.

Manifolds
Ok Boys well I have had a three typical combos as far as manifolds go. The STOCK LT1 manifold ran out of steam around 5800 RPM. When I switched to a LT2 manifold , it moved the power band up to roughly 6200 RPM and about 15 MORE HP. Now porting the LT2 manifold did virtually NOTHING so I dont reccommend that.
My last variation was an MSD manifold because I put in a 419 stroker motor with a fairly large cam (GPT NFT cam) and I felt like it needed MORE air . Porting THIS manifold also showed very small gains. So with THIS combo, peak power is about 6500 RPM (roughtly 580 RWHP) with stock converter and A10 tranny. Car is a beast on a road course where RPM RARELY falls below 4800-5000 RPM.
